2016 PRE-CONGRESS - THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND

Thank you for registering to attend the Theology of the Body Congress Pre-Conference on Thursday, September 22. Below you will find details to help you plan your time.

Pre-Conference Registration

All attendees to the Pre-Conference need to pre-register at www.tobcongress.com by clicking the registration tab and selecting which Pre-Conference sessions you would like to attend. Walk-ins are welcome, but for planning purposes and preparation of training materials, pre-registration is helpful. Each session is $29 per person. The listing of trainings is available on the schedule page of the Congress web site.

Meals

No meals are included at the Pre-Conference, but a lunch break will be offered from noon-2 pm for those attending both the morning and afternoon sessions. A listing of local restaurants will be available at the registration table.

Pre-Conference Check-In

Congress check-in for English and Spanish will be held in the lobby outside of Rooms 203 on the second floor of the Ontario Convention Center, near the South Entrance of the Ontario Convention Center. If you are coming from the Double Tree Hotel, you will enter at the North Entrance and follow the signs to the Pre-Conference area on the second floor. If you are entering from the Radisson Hotel, you will enter at the South Entrance and take the elevator or escalator to the second floor.  Registration for the morning session will be from 8:30-9:00 am and from 1:30-2:00 pm for the afternoon session.

Hotel Check-In and Check-Out

Participants who are staying at nearby hotels can check-in and check-out at the main registration desk in the lobby of your respective hotel at your convenience.  Check-in at the Convention Center is for the Pre-Congress only.

Dress Code

Dress code is casual and modest.

Parking

Both the Double Tree and Radisson Hotels offer complimentary parking and are within walking distance of the Ontario Convention Center. Parking at the Ontario Convention Center is $10 per day per entry (no in-and-out privileges), payable at the time of entry.

Ground Transportation from Ontario International Airport

Both the Double Tree and Radisson hotels offer complimentary airport transportation. Attendees can contact their hotel directly to arrange pick up and drop off times. Both hotels are within easy walking distance to the Ontario Convention Center.


THE 2016 CONGRESS - SEPT. 23 - 25, 2016

We look forward to welcoming you to the 2016 International Theology of the Body Congress in just a few weeks. Below is some information we hope you find helpful in planning your trip to Southern California.

Congress Schedule

The official updated Congress is now available. Click here to download a PDF schedule. We hope this will be helpful in planning your time at the TOB Congress. Attendees do not need to pre-register for specific workshops and can make their selections during each workshop time.

Meals

All meals are on your own throughout the Congress, except for the 2016 TOB Awards Banquet on Saturday evening. The banquet is included in the purchase of a Full Congress Registration, but is not included in any “day-only” registration for Friday or Saturday, September 23-24. Adequate meal breaks have been built into the Congress schedule to allow attendees time to eat meals. A list of local restaurant options will be listed in the program book and available at the concierge desk at either Congress hotel.

If you purchased a “day-only” registration and would like to attend the banquet, you can purchase a banquet ticket on the registration site for $40.

Meal Selection and Dietary Restrictions for the Banquet

Each banquet attendee must RSVP with their meal selection and/or dietary restrictions via the E-blast sent to each registered attendee by Friday, September 16. If you did not receive this email, please contact info@tobcongress.com. Attendees will receive their meal selection ticket at the entrance to the banquet.

Congress Check-In

Registration Hours:

o   Friday, September 23 from 10 am to 12:30 pm.

o   Saturday, September 24 from 8 – 10 am.  

Once checked in, each participant will receive their lanyard, program book and a 2016 International Theology of the Body attendee bag with promotional  items and literature from our Congress sponsors.

Hotel Check-In and Check-Out

Participants can check-in and check-out at the main registration desk in the lobby of their respective hotel at their convenience.  Check-in at the Convention Center is for the Congress only.

Sacramental Opportunities

Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24 at 7 am in Room 102 and Sunday at 11:45 am in Hall B with Bishop David G. O’Connell from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available throughout the Congress (see the program book for times and locations).

Weather

Be sure to check local Southern California weather before you leave for the Congress at www.weather.com for the most current weather updates. Average high for the month of September is 88°F and the average low is 62°F. You can expect warm summer temperatures.

Dress Code

Dress code is smart casual and modest. We suggest business casual for Masses and the Congress Awards Banquet.

Audio Recordings

All keynotes, workshops and panel discussions will be recorded and available for purchase from Ascension Press at their exhibit booth in the Congress exhibit hall after Sunday’s closing keynote.
