A Breakout Session with Fr. Sean Kilcawley

In "Create in Me a Clean Heart," the United States Bishops proclaimed that protecting children from pornography is our “sacred duty." Pope Francis draws attention to the need to educate children about the harms of pornography in Amoris Laetitia as he says, “It is not helpful to overwhelm them with data without also helping them to develop a critical sense in dealing with the onslaught of new ideas and suggestions, the flood of pornography and the overload of stimuli that can deform sexuality.” However, it can be difficult to discern how to approach the topic of pornography with our young people while at the same time protecting their innocence. In this presentation, Fr. Sean Kilcawley will provide a theological framework for confronting the pornography problem through the lens of the Theology of the Body and point to concrete resources and strategies for your diocese, parish, or family.
